9/26/2009 Boston LegalFinished the all 5 seasons of Boston Legal just now
Strongly recommended
Boston Legal is the most brilliant, logical, meaningful, and funny TV series about justice I have ever seen.
It shows simply the story in the famous law firm "Crane, Poole & Schmitt", only with complex cases and relationships.
It is a kind of dramedy (drama-comedy), that is to say, it includes various of factors of both drama and comedy.
It won 5 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award, nominated 26 times in all.
So my suggestion would be to be seated in frond of the screen and enjoy the time with its dramatic and fun parts.
Although not fully agree with all the ideas in this show, I truly admire the friendship between Alan Shore and Denny Crane.
Denny once said on the balcony, "the simple pleasures: A clear night, a scotch, and a friend."
They love and care about each other, purely. They are each other's flamingo.
"You have met somebody who likes you for who you are." Another one from Denny.
At the end of each episode, watching their "closing" of it, I find the magic between the two, and that is what we called friendship.
In the end, they got married, which really surprised me. But this show surprised me anyway, always.
Since the leading female characters are always changing from seasons to seasons, except Shirly Schmitt, one of the founding partners of the firm, and also, the very perfect woman, I would like to talk about Alan, who is definitely the most important leading character, and also my favourite one.
Despite the sensitivity, Alan is the most righteous, profound, and kind-hearted person I have ever "met", which is incredibly rare in law practice.
Besides he's always ready for his friends, and he never break his promise.
Of course, his long but extremely persuasive closing is for me attractive as well.
(casts of season 4)
With the old but energetic Denny, wierd but virtuous Jerry, and many other adorable but professional female characters, Boston Legal has become one of my favourite TV series.
Sometimes I think it unbelievably magical, for it is only a stange mostly built up with some old guys, but perhaps this is exactly the cahrm of it.
How I wish it lasted longer.
- Happiness is right now, my friend. On this balcony. You and me.
- I love how you reduce everything in life to you and me.
